Candidates must submit all required academic transcripts and documentation within this window.

Submitted applications are reviewed for degree verification or program equivalency review.

Approved candidates receive test scheduling credentials.

Testing Window 1/16/27- 1/30/27

Approved candidates sit for the examination during the dedicated 2-week testing center window

Future Testing Windows

Required non-refundable fee for all applicants upon initial submission to cover credential evaluation and background verification.

Special introductory exam fee available exclusively for the first 100 candidates testing during the January 16–30 window.

Standard fee for subsequent testing windows. Active SIOP members receive a discounted rate of $500 upon membership verification.

Qualification Criteria

PSI-O Eligibility Pathways

Applicants qualify for examination through one of two established eligibility routes based on graduate training or psychology respecialization.

Graduate Training in I-O Psychology

Psychology Respecialization Pathway

Applicants qualify if they hold a master's degree or higher in Industrial-Organizational Psychology or a recognized equivalent field. Professional experience documentation is not required for recognized fields.

Applicants holding a master's degree or higher in an area of psychology other than I-O may establish specialization through professional research, teaching, or practice.

  • Social-Organizational

  • Applied I-O Psychology.

Qualifying backgrounds include:

  • Clinical

  • Counseling

  • School

  • Experimental

  • General Applied

  • Educational

  • Social

  • other psychology disciplines.

Program Equivalency Review: Candidates with alternative degree titles may request a review demonstrating a foundation in psychology, substantial I-O preparation, and scientific methodology.

Experience requirement: Document at least 2,000 hours of verified practice across at least four (4) domains of the PSI-O Content Outline across single or multiple settings.
