The Psychological Specialty in Industrial-Organizational Psychology (PSI-O) is an independent professional certification developed to recognize practitioners who demonstrate competence in the science and practice of Industrial-Organizational Psychology.

Unlike an academic degree, the PSI-O credential verifies that a professional has met established standards for education, professional experience, and examination developed through nationally accepted credentialing practices.

Results withheld until standard setting is complete

Candidate feedback collected to improve the examination

Because this is the inaugural administration, examination scores will be released after psychometric analyses and the standard-setting process are completed. This process ensures a fair, valid, and legally defensible passing standard

Preliminary Eligibility Requirements

Candidates will generally be expected to have:

Master's or doctoral degree in Industrial-Organizational Psychology (or qualifying discipline)

Documented graduate coursework in I-O psychology

Supervised professional experience

Agreement to abide by the Code of Ethics

Final requirements will be published before applications open
